Dynamic Update: OpenAI Moves Codex Beyond Programming - OpenAI is now expanding Codex from a programming tool to a wider Agent scenario. Developers can directly integrate the Agent running system behind Codex into their own software for tasks such as customer service, operations, security, research, and more, no longer limited to coding and tool development.
This system is called Codex Harness and has long been open source. In the past, it was mainly used to support Codex in coding, but now OpenAI has made it clear that it can also be directly used for other Agent products such as customer service, operations, security, and the like.
OpenAI showcased a logistics backend demo. When encountering an abnormal order, Codex automatically queries data, calls enterprise tools, compares processing solutions, and only requires human confirmation when actual order modifications are needed. The entire process takes place directly within the business software, without users needing to open Codex or engage in a separate conversation with a chatbot.
