BlockBeats News, August 19th, TikTok is developing a "Peer-to-Peer" payment feature that will allow users to transfer money to each other through private messages. The "evidence" for this comes from the code of the U.S. version of the TikTok app. From the code, it is evident that the interactive design of this feature is quite advanced. The recipient can "click to accept" the payment before it expires, and the sender can receive transaction status updates via push notifications or the inbox. Additionally, there is support for adding a message when making a payment, similar to the functionality of PayPal's Venmo.
A TikTok spokesperson stated that this feature is currently not being tested in any market and is still in the early stages of development. TikTok Pay is currently only available in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand for TikTok Shop purchases, and there is no guarantee that the peer-to-peer payment feature will be officially launched.
