DeepSeek Price Surges on First Day: Global Split on Pricing Strategy with Domestic Players Splitting into Three Camps, While Overseas Manufacturers Still Offering Discounts

According to the Beating Monitor by Dynamic Insights, DeepSeek has officially implemented its V4 new pricing today, with peak-hour pricing for 7 hours a day and half-price for the remaining 17 hours.

On the first day of the price increase, both domestic and international channels have officially diverged: some domestic providers directly matched the price increase, some delayed the increase by a few days, and others continued to offer the service at a lower price; meanwhile, many overseas platforms are still cheaper than DeepSeek's original pricing.

1. Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud: Directly matched the price increase. Both companies' V4 Flash and V4 Pro official versions have already synchronized with DeepSeek's new pricing, matching the original manufacturer's pricing both during peak and off-peak hours.

2. Huawei Cloud, Volcano Engine: Delayed the price increase. Huawei adjusted their pricing on August 20 and divided their pricing into day and night, offering a 30% discount during the night; Volcano Engine only implemented the price increase on August 21 and is still charging the old price today.

3. Kwai's TenEngine, Baidu: Continued with their own pricing systems. Kwai's TenEngine's V4 Flash currently still has an input of 1 yuan and an output of 2 yuan, which is cheaper than DeepSeek even during off-peak hours; Baidu's Token Plan also did not directly copy the manufacturer's peak and off-peak pricing, with DeepSeek still offering a 80% discount during the night.

4. OpenRouter: Still offering discounts. The current page for V4 Flash even displays a 33% discount, with input/output priced around $0.06/$0.12. However, it dynamically switches between different providers, so this price could change at any time.

5. OpenCode: The pay-as-you-go version matched the price increase, while the subscription version directly reduced the quota. Zen has fully synchronized with DeepSeek's peak and off-peak pricing; Go's monthly fee is still $5 for the first month and $10 thereafter, but the monthly quota for the V4 Flash model has been reduced from $60 on the previous page to $15, a 75% decrease. Note that the monthly cap for the entire Go package is still $60, and only the quota for the DeepSeek Flash model has been reduced.

6. Command Code: Package quotas remain unchanged, and the price increase is directly passed on to the user. The monthly fee and Credits remain the same, but DeepSeek is now more expensive, so the same Credits can run fewer requests; the company stated that during peak hours, users can only run about half the volume they could during off-peak hours.

7. DeepInfra, RunInfra, GMI Cloud, Novita: Overseas providers continue to offer lower prices. The V4 Flash currently costs around $0.08/$0.18, $0.13/$0.27, $0.14/$0.28, and $0.14/$0.28 respectively, with fixed prices throughout the day, not following DeepSeek's peak and off-peak pricing.

Domestically, providers have split into three groups: those who synchronized with the price increase, those who delayed the increase, and those who continue to offer lower prices; meanwhile, most overseas API platforms are still reducing prices, with Coding Agent beginning to absorb the price increase from their package quotas.

Currently, purchasing from different sources, the price and volume of DeepSeek models can differ by several times.
