Analysis: Bitcoin's potential ‘loss’ reaches an all-time high, accounting for approximately 17.7% of the circulating supply

BlockBeats News, August 16: CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost stated in a post that the “lost” Bitcoin supply has reached a new all-time high, currently standing at 3.56 million BTC, approximately 17.7% of the circulating supply.

The metric used includes BTC that have not moved in over 10 years. Although in rare cases some long-dormant Bitcoins may become active again, as was the case in July 2025, overall, the supply of long-unused BTC continues to grow.

In the past 30 days, over 14,000 BTC have entered this long-dormant supply range. This trend naturally reduces the actual circulating supply of Bitcoin.
