MiniMax Code is transitioning from desktop to terminal, and the CLI version is about to be launched.

According to Perceiving AI monitoring, MiniMax Code's R&D lead, He Tao, has teased the upcoming launch of the MiniMax Code Terminal version. From the showcased test interface, it is already in a full-fledged Coding Agent form, capable of understanding tasks, contemplating, and performing operations within the terminal.

MiniMax Code itself is not a new product. MiniMax previously had a web and desktop version. At the end of May this year, the desktop app was officially renamed MiniMax Code. With the release of M3 in June, it was positioned as an Agent product specifically designed to work with their in-house models. The official description states that its underlying harness is based on OpenCode and Pi.
