Cloudflare Rolls Out Red Carpet for AI Agent: Websites Can Now Easily Integrate with WebMCP

According to Perf Beating monitoring, Cloudflare has launched the WebMCP Developer Preview. Websites integrated with Cloudflare only need to enable a console switch, without modifying the origin server code or redeploying, to allow the browser Agent to discover and invoke website-exposed tools.

WebMCP is a browser interface driven by Google and Microsoft. The Agent no longer needs to take screenshots, identify buttons, and simulate clicks repeatedly; it can directly invoke webpage functions with explicit parameters, such as searching for products, filling out forms, and booking services.

However, it will not automatically turn all site buttons into Agent tools. The current preview includes only two default toolkits: C2PA for reading image source credentials and connecting to an existing MCP server on the website. The image credentials currently only read declarations and do not yet verify signature authenticity.

Previously, Cloudflare mainly helped websites block AI crawlers or charge crawlers. Now it has provided a new path: Agents do not need to first crawl content; they can stay within the webpage and perform actions using tools opened by the site owner.
