BlockBeats News, August 6th, SanDisk (SNDK.O) reported strong performance for Q4 of the 2026 fiscal year, with revenue and profit beating market expectations. The revenue surged 372% year-over-year and 51% quarter-over-quarter. The company's board of directors approved a $14 billion stock buyback plan.
SanDisk expects revenue for Q1 to be $10.3 billion to $10.8 billion, slightly above the analyst average expectation of $10.47 billion. The adjusted earnings per share for Q1 are expected to be $0.44 to $0.46, higher than the expected $0.4312. The actual revenue for Q4 was $8.97 billion, surpassing the expected $8.39 billion; the adjusted earnings per share were $3.25, exceeding the expected $3.45. Data center revenue in Q4 more than doubled quarter-over-quarter, reaching $2.98 billion.
Options expiring in the week of August 7th showed that the $1370 strike price had the highest open interest in both call and put options. The intense options trading after the financial report may be at least partially responsible for the stock's weak performance. The lower-than-expected revenue outlook for the next quarter ($10.3 billion - $10.8 billion) may also be one of the reasons for the stock's post-market decline.
The SanDisk management stated, "The revenue beat was driven by our shift towards a higher-value customer mix (437% growth in data center business) and price increases."
According to BIT market data, SanDisk's US stock initially fell by 8% in after-hours trading, currently down by 5.57%.
