BlockBeats News, August 4th, Citrini analyst Jukan cited Counterpoint Research data on the DRAM market share in the second quarter of 2026, showing that SK Hynix's market share by revenue is only about 1 percentage point ahead of Micron.
Jukan stated that this result is contrary to previous market expectations, mainly because the price of HBM3E did not continue to rise but saw a decrease after renegotiation. Additionally, the delay in the introduction of HBM4 has impacted SK Hynix's growth expectations.
Furthermore, SK Hynix had signed long-term supply agreements (LTA) earlier with a reportedly lower fixed supply price than its competitors, which also affected its revenue market share performance.
Previously, the market generally believed that with the advantage of HBM3E supply, SK Hynix would expand its lead during the AI storage demand growth cycle. However, the latest data indicates that Micron is narrowing the gap with SK Hynix.
