OpenAI has banned Cambodia for using ChatGPT to create fake identities and engage in online scam accounts

This network used ChatGPT to create fake identities, translate scam messages, and produce promotional content. They gained victims' trust through online dating and other means, and then lured them into participating in fraudulent cryptocurrency or gold investment schemes.

The relevant leads were initially provided by WhatsApp, and the individuals involved are suspected to be active in the Poipet area of Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia.
