The South Korean KOSPI Index closed up 18% today, marking a 22% decline for the month, the second largest monthly drop in history.

BlockBeats News, July 31st. According to Bitget market data, the South Korean KOSPI index closed up 1001.88 points on July 31st (Friday), a 17.91% increase, at 6595.44 points. This marks the largest single-day closing gain in history, with SK Hynix up 30% hitting the limit up, and Samsung Electronics up nearly 27%, both setting new records for single-day gains.


This week, the index experienced significant volatility, triggering circuit breakers twice, and today saw a violent 18% rebound during the trading session. The index has fallen 22.4% this month, the second-largest monthly decline after the historical record of 27.2% set in October 1997, and has retreated 30% from its peak in June.
