Musk and *The Economist* Editor-in-Chief Clash in Interview: "Many People Hate You," "Even More People Dislike You"

BlockBeats News, July 26th. The video of Musk's interview with The Economist was released on July 23rd. In the video, The Economist's Editor-in-Chief Bertos accused Musk of being out of touch with reality, abusing his influence to spread false panic about Europe and right-wing extremist rhetoric. "You (Musk) described to me those astonishing events that will take place in the next ten years, events with extraordinary transformative significance that could change civilization. However, you are also a participant in the social media, the worst cesspool of tribalism."

In response to Bertos' sharp attack, Musk replied, "My partner (Neuralink executive Xiven Zeelis) is half Indian, and we have four children together. One of our children is named after a famous Indian physicist. So I don't think I'm a racist. Also, if you look at the employees in my company, you will find executives from various races. I don't think there is any racial discrimination there."

During the interview, Musk warned Bertos: the media represented by The Economist mistakenly characterizes 'far-right' ideologies as absurd and misleading. Bertos countered by stating that Musk claims 'Britain erupting in civil war is only a matter of time,' but the reality is different, 'the domestic security environment in the UK is better than any city in the US.'

Finally, Bertos directly criticized Musk, saying, "You are out of touch with reality, and many people dislike you." Musk responded, "I don't care. I have 250 million fans. I think there are many more people who like me than those who don't. And I think there are many more people who hate you and the media than you imagine."
