Tencent's Super Media Group Experiences Leadership Change: Hu Han Resigns to Start His Own Business, Tian Yonglong Takes Over VLM

According to Dong Watcher monitoring, Tencent's Chief Scientist of Heterogeneous Multimodal Understanding, Han Hu, has submitted his resignation and is preparing to start his own business. Former OpenAI researcher Yonglong Tian will take over the Visual Language Model (VLM) development and will continue to report to Yunshui Yao.

Han Hu joined Tencent in early 2025 from Microsoft Research Asia. Subsequently, he joined the Frontier Research Group of the Large Language Model Department and participated in the development of the World Model. With Yonglong Tian taking over the VLM, Han Hu's original team may shift its focus to the World Model.
