According to MotionBeat Monitoring, Cursor has launched Cursor Router, which automatically selects a programming model for Teams and Enterprise. It first assesses the task type and complexity before deciding whether to invoke a cost-effective model or a cutting-edge model.
The Router was trained on over 600,000 real requests and tested on millions of requests. The user satisfaction of Auto Intelligence is close to Fable, with a cost reduction of approximately 60%. The satisfaction of Auto Balance exceeds Opus 4.8, with a cost reduction of about 36%.
Cursor has not disclosed the full model pool, nor does it default to showing which model is invoked each time. The company has only confirmed that the Router will allocate models based on task types, such as assigning interface design to models more skilled in visuals and assigning complex long tasks to models with stronger inference capabilities.
