BlockBeats News, July 22. The South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit announced that Zilliqa (ZIL) has been listed as a "cautionary" asset, with trading pairs including ZIL/KRW and ZIL/BTC.
Upbit stated that, in accordance with the South Korean "Act on the Protection of Virtual Asset Users," the platform has identified potential security incident risks related to ZIL wallets or the distributed ledger on which it is issued, transmitted, and stored, which have not been fully investigated or resolved. These risks could lead to user losses, leading Upbit to take precautionary measures.
The announcement revealed that the cautionary period for ZIL is from July 22, 2026, to the third week of August (August 17 to 21). During this review period, Upbit will assess the associated risks based on its trading support termination policy and may decide to extend the observation period, lift the cautionary status, or cease trading support.
Furthermore, ZIL deposit and withdrawal services have been suspended. Upbit indicated that if these services resume in the future, withdrawals will be given priority, and the resumption of deposit services will be notified based on subsequent review results. Currently, new deposits will not be credited, and related deposit transactions will be refunded.
