Zhipu Technology Acquires Zhongke Jiahe for Billions, Acquiring Domestic Chip Adaptation Capability

According to DataEye Beating Monitor, ZhiPu has invested hundreds of millions of dollars to acquire Zhongke Jiahe. The latter is an AI infrastructure company, with the team originating from the Institute of Computing of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Its core product acts as a "translation software" layer between models and different chips, making it easier for the same model to run on various domestic chips.

ZhiPu is currently facing significant engineering pressure for large-scale inference. After the launch of GLM-5, some users encountered garbled text, repetition, and rare characters. ZhiPu's investigation revealed that the issue stemmed from cache conflicts under high concurrency. The post-incident analysis also specifically thanked Zhongke Jiahe for their support.

Post-acquisition, Zhongke Jiahe can help ZhiPu reduce the redundant adaptation of domestic chips, increase computing power utilization, and lower inference costs. However, this can only make up for the compilation and chip adaptation capabilities. Issues such as cluster scheduling, network stability, and computing power supply still need to be addressed by ZhiPu.
