BlockBeats News, July 16th. According to CNBC, Trump's teleprompter operator is under investigation by a U.S. federal regulatory agency for allegedly betting on the content of President Trump's speeches on the prediction market platform Kalshi.
Gabriel Perez, a White House technical assistant who has been operating the teleprompter for Trump since 2016, is suspected of using advance knowledge of the speech content to bet on which words Trump would mention. Within three months, he placed bets on over a dozen speeches and made a profit of over $100,000.
Robert DeNault, Kalshi's Head of Compliance, stated that the platform's monitoring team quickly flagged the relevant transactions after an internal investigation and referred them to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in the U.S. Kalshi has frozen his account and withheld over $90,000 in trading profits. DeNault said Kalshi is cooperating with regulatory investigations and has submitted relevant evidence collected from the platform.
