According to Sentinel Beating monitoring, OpenClaw released on 2026.7.1, adding native chat and session management to its existing macOS client. The previous Mac App was mainly responsible for menu bar control, voice input, permission management, and Gateway configuration, with this update finally providing a more complete desktop chat experience.
Users can now search through their chat history within the Mac App, switch between models and inference strengths, use slash commands, export chat logs, and view contextual usage.
A fresh installation of OpenClaw will default to using GPT-5.6, but it will not override the model configurations already saved by existing users. The version also adds support for models such as Claude Sonnet 5, Mythos 5, and Meta Muse Spark 1.1.
iOS and Android have also added offline session caching. Users can view recent chat records even when offline, and Apple Watch can directly receive voice queries and read out responses.
