According to Sentinel Beating monitoring, xAI responds to Grok Build's controversial full repository upload. The team, which has enabled Zero Data Retention (ZDR), states that code and execution records will not be retained. Users accessing Grok Build via an API key are also subject to this configuration.
Users who have not enabled ZDR can input /privacy in the CLI to disable data retention. Previously synced data will also be deleted.
Andrew Milich, the head of Grok Build, stated that after modifying the privacy settings, the system will retrospectively delete any previously synced data.
Subsequently, Musk announced that as a precautionary measure, SpaceXAI will completely erase all previously uploaded user data, leaving no trace behind.
However, this response mainly explains how to stop saving and delete data. xAI has yet to clarify why Grok Build defaults to uploading the entire Git repository.
