According to DynaBeat Monitoring, Musk has requested Tesla employees in an internal memo to switch to using Grok where feasible. The reason is that Grok 4.5 has a lower token cost. He has also instructed engineers to directly email him feedback on issues.
Just this week, Tesla restricted the budget for employees using other AI tools to $200 per person per week, but Grok remains unrestricted. Over the past few months, Tesla has been internally testing Grok, with SpaceXAI Product Lead Andrew Milich assisting in troubleshooting.
Grok 4.5 was jointly released this week by SpaceXAI and Cursor, focusing on programming, engineering, and office tasks. The official pricing is $2 per million tokens for input and $6 for output.
