BlockBeats News, July 11th, Serenity stated that despite recent discussions on the optimization of the OpenAI MRC network architecture and the potential decrease in demand for optical modules due to Amazon's RNG architecture, the rapid expansion of AI computing power will continue to drive overall optical communication demand even if the number of optical modules required per XPU decreases.
Serenity pointed out that with a significant increase in XPU deployments, the overall demand for optical modules is expected to continue growing. Regarding Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) laser solutions, it believes that VCSEL is more suitable as a transitional technology for Near-Packaged Optics (NPO) and short-distance interconnect phases, while in the long run, Ultra-High Power Continuous Wave (UHP CW) lasers will be the preferred solution for CPO, a view that is also consistent with Broadcom's previous public statements.
