Former OpenAI Researcher Yunguang Tian Joins Tencent MIXMARVEL Team

According to Dynamic Beat monitoring, former OpenAI technical team member Tian Yonglong has confirmed his joining the Tencent Omni team and will be involved in future research and development related to vision language models.

Tian Yonglong graduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor's degree and obtained a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He has previously served as a senior research scientist at Google Research and Google DeepMind, focusing on computer vision and generative models.

This is Tencent Omni's addition of another top Chinese AI researcher after recruiting Chief AI Scientist Yao Shunyu in December last year.

Tencent recently launched the official version of the Omni Hy3 model led by Yao Shunyu and adopted an open-source license. With Tian Yonglong joining, Tencent Omni's large-scale model will further enhance its talent pool in multimodal and visual development.
