GameStop has announced that it will proceed with its $56 billion acquisition of eBay.

BlockBeats News, June 30th - According to Reuters, GameStop has stated that despite eBay rejecting its $56 billion cash and stock acquisition offer, the company will continue to pursue its acquisition plan for eBay. GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen made the acquisition offer in May, which took Wall Street by surprise. He believes that the merged company would become a larger competitor to Amazon and has stated that he would be in charge of the operations. eBay rejected the offer in the same month.

GameStop has indicated that it will persist with its plan to acquire eBay but has not disclosed the reasons for the deal or the next steps. Furthermore, GameStop stated in a brief regulatory filing that it expects its adjusted EBITDA for the fiscal year 2026 to exceed $6 billion, surpassing the $3.454 billion reported for the 2025 fiscal year.
