BlockBeats News, June 27th, Today, OpenAI released the preview version of the GPT-5.6 series model, which includes three different specifications: Sol, Terra, and Luna. These three specifications are named after the Sun (Sol), Earth (Terra), and Moon (Luna) in Latin, with OpenAI choosing a solar system theme to name the model family, symbolizing a "universally vast AI capability hierarchy" that brings inspiration and eternity.
However, for the crypto community, these three words also hold profound significance. SOL is the native token of the Solana blockchain. Terra, on the other hand, was once a popular algorithmic stablecoin project, with its core ecosystem token being LUNA. In 2022, this ecosystem experienced a well-known collapse, marking a significant turning point in the crypto market from a bull to a bear.
For OpenAI, this naming has a high degree of intersection with the crypto community, and Solana's official tweet playfully commented: Sam Altcoinman.
