According to Watchtower Beating monitoring, Google Antigravity has released version 2.2.1. In response to developers frequently facing authorization expiration issues, the new version supports automatically storing refreshed OAuth credentials in the operating system's secure keychain (such as Apple Keychain or Windows Credential Manager), eliminating the need for repetitive web authorization pop-ups. Additionally, workspace retrieval has been upgraded to substring matching mode, fixing Path Not Found errors caused by prefix-based retrieval and resolving deadlocks during sub-agent execution.
Media and environment compatibility have also been enhanced. The new version introduces direct playback support for audio formats such as .mp3 and .wav in the sidebar and artifact windows, and adds syntax highlighting for C++, Python, and Protobuf in Markdown. For Windows platform users, the update fixes issues with repeated triggering of UAC permission control and access errors to the system environment variable PATH directory. The system also includes a built-in Antigravity Guide skill to address platform usage inquiries.
However, some developers have encountered obstacles during the upgrade and experience. Community feedback indicates that an upgrade anomaly has caused some users to remain stuck on the old 2.1.4 version with no available updates. Additionally, the client now forcibly starts at 1400x900 pixels on each launch, and the new version has removed the inline command editing feature previously triggered by Ctrl+I, leading to numerous user complaints.
