Cryptocurrency custodian BitGo has announced a workforce reduction of approximately 15%, focusing on security, stablecoins, trading, and AI infrastructure.

BlockBeats News, June 26th - Mike Belshe, CEO of the cryptocurrency custodian BitGo, announced today that the company will reduce its workforce by approximately 15%. He characterized this as a one-time adjustment and emphasized that further reductions are not expected.

Belshe stated that this decision was driven by the significant evolution of the crypto ecosystem and a fundamental shift in the way financial services are being built. To maintain competitiveness, BitGo needs to focus its resources on key areas such as security, transactions, stablecoins, settlement, and AI-driven infrastructure.

BitGo is one of the world's largest digital asset institutional custodians, primarily serving institutional clients with custody, trading, and wallet infrastructure services. The affected employees have been directly informed by their respective managers and the HR department.
