Iran Warns Ships Not to Use Unauthorized Strait Route

BlockBeats News, June 26th, The Iran government agency responsible for approving and regulating maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, the "Persian Gulf Maritime Authority" (PGSA), stated that any passage not following its approved route would be considered unauthorized and would not fall within the security protection provided by the agency.

The agency further noted that the consequences of using an unauthorized route would be the responsibility of the shipowner, operator, and captain. Earlier, a new ship attack incident occurred near the Strait of Hormuz; U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal that the attack was carried out by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard targeting a cargo ship flying the flag of Singapore.
