BlockBeats news, September 25: Bitget CEO Gracy Chen posted key points from an earlier livestream today on social media, including:
1. Affected assets include ETH, XRP, BNB, AVAX, USDT, USDC, and other tokens, involving Ethereum, XRP Ledger, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, BSC, and Base. All on-chain cold wallets have been confirmed secure and unaffected.
2. Bitget has contacted the foundations of all affected chains, some of which have confirmed the freezing of hacker wallet addresses. The team will continue to follow up through relevant channels and announce the latest developments.
3. Bitget stated that based on IP behavior characteristics and on-chain analysis, the attack method is highly consistent with known patterns of North Korean hacker groups. It has reported to relevant authorities and is cooperating with a global investigation.
4. Bitget Wallet and the Bitget trading platform infrastructure operate completely independently. This incident has not affected Bitget Wallet, and Bitget Wallet assets are completely safe.
5. Regarding the platform's financial condition, Bitget stated that in addition to a protection fund exceeding $464 million, its own assets exceed $1 billion, user funds are covered on a 1:1 basis, and the relevant data can all be verified on-chain.
6. Regarding the timeline for resuming withdrawals, Bitget stated that the goal is to complete a full recovery as soon as possible. Once a specific time window is confirmed, it will be announced immediately, and it will not promise a timeline it cannot fulfill.
