Apple will skip the high-end M6 Mac chip and focus on developing the AI-powered M7 series

BlockBeats News, June 26, Apple is making one of the largest adjustments to its Mac chip strategy ever, preparing to leap directly to a new generation of chips focusing on AI capabilities in the next flagship processor.

According to sources, the company is currently in the M5 series stage, planning to introduce the base M6 processor for entry-level Macs as early as this year. However, sources said Apple will unprecedentedly skip the high-end version of this chip. Apple plans to release Pro and Max versions belonging to the M7 new generation chip series in 2027, which will have more powerful computing and graphics processing capabilities.

Apple is taking this unusual step to expedite the introduction of technology originally planned for a later time. This move is expected to meet the growing market demand for edge AI capabilities and graphics-intensive software.
