BlockBeats News, June 23rd - According to official sources, the distributed AI computing network Darkbloom has officially launched OpenRouter. Darkbloom aims to promote the development of an open, distributed, and user-driven computing network, where any user with a Mac device can participate in providing computing power.
The initial models available on the platform include gpt-oss-20b and Gemma 4 26B, and the related computing power will be freely accessible to OpenRouter users. The officials also stated that Mac users can now join the Darkbloom network and contribute their idle computing resources.
Darkbloom, incubated and launched as a research project under Eigen Labs, is one of the experiments around the EigenCloud / EigenLayer ecosystem, aiming to build a "decentralized computing power network." The core idea is to onboard idle Apple Silicon devices to a verifiable distributed inference network, enabling low-cost AI inference and computing power supply.
According to HTX market data, possibly influenced by this news, EIGEN has seen a maximum surge of 55% in the past five days.
