CZ: AI-Powered Trading and Payments Will Arrive in Months, Leveraging Blockchain

BlockBeats News, June 20th, Binance founder CZ participated in the Galaxy Brains podcast and was interviewed by Galaxy Research Director Alex Thorn. CZ stated that he has almost installed and subscribed to all mainstream AI large language models and would use different products according to different needs. OpenAI is the product he installed earliest, Claude is more suitable for coding, and when in regions like Hong Kong, he would use Chinese models like DeepSeek and Kimi. CZ mentioned that he does not choose tools from a political standpoint but rather "uses whatever works," noting that overall, American large language models are more accurate, Chinese open-source models are also good, but sometimes not comprehensive enough.

CZ mentioned that AI-driven trading and payments will arrive in months, not years. He believes that AI can help users book tickets or make trades, but it still requires payment and transfer capabilities. The current payment system is not suitable for direct AI use; for example, AI cannot swipe a Visa card like a person and struggles with 2FA or KYC processes. In contrast, blockchain is API-driven and more easily integrated with AI. CZ mentioned that since AI still needs to spend money and make transactions, it will be using blockchain.

Discussing AI competition, CZ stated that there will definitely be competition between China and the US in the AI field, including areas such as chips, data centers, and manufacturing capabilities. He believes that competition can drive growth, but the pace of AI development needs to be handled carefully because AI is very powerful and can also be very dangerous. CZ mentioned that compared to crypto regulation, AI regulation is more complex. Crypto regulation mainly deals with issues such as funds, KYC, and AML, but AI can engage in hacking attacks, assist in weapon manufacturing, control robots, drones, etc. Currently, there are not enough people thinking deeply about how to fully regulate AI.
