According to Dynamic Beating monitoring, Anthropic has announced a major upgrade to its AI design and prototyping tool, Claude Design, focusing on bridging the gap between design and development workflows. The most significant feature of the new version is the deep bidirectional sync with the end-to-end development assistant, Claude Code: within Claude Code, developers can extract the real design system specifications from their local codebase and seamlessly import them into Claude Design projects using the /design-sync command, or they can directly create and sync designs in the terminal using the /design command. This allows the generated designs to natively conform to existing components and themes, and once the design is complete, it can be handed off to Claude Code for code generation and implementation with a single click.
Furthermore, Claude Design has revamped its design system import tool, now supporting direct analysis and extraction of design specifications from GitHub repositories, design files, or local codebases, with automatic validation before output. The editor itself is more stable, with added layout controls for directly dragging, resizing, and aligning elements on the canvas, and it supports exporting designs in PDF and PowerPoint formats. In terms of management and usage, the new version has introduced an Admin role for Team and Enterprise plans, allowing design leads to lock down the official design system to ensure brand consistency. Additionally, Claude Design has started sharing usage quotas with other Claude products and has optimized Token consumption. This update is currently in beta testing for paid users on the web and desktop platforms.
