Renowned Developer Exposes Google AI Turmoil: Forced Out the Original Gemini CLI Team, New Product Antigravity Shamelessly Copies Codex at the Pixel Level

According to OnWatch Beating monitoring, renowned developer Theo (t3.gg) released a video exposing the absurd political struggles within the Google AI team. He stated that the original Gemini CLI team actively listened to community feedback and was dedicated to building excellent open-source solutions. However, with Google's funding to poach the Windsurf founder team to develop the new product "Antigravity," the original team's efforts were completely abandoned, and key members were marginalized. Adding to the irony, the highly anticipated Antigravity client by Google not only frequently invalidated models consuming tokens but also shamelessly pixel-copied a direct competitor, Codex, even inadvertently revealing a development folder named "Codex" in the official demo video. Theo bluntly stated that this internal strife is driving away genuinely talented engineers, ultimately resulting in Google producing insincere "AI garbage."

While criticizing the AI team's malignant politics, Theo also strongly condemned Google Cloud's extreme unreliability. He revealed that the deployment platform Railway recently suffered a ridiculous internal throttling mechanism from Google Cloud, leading to a complete outage, with no one internally even aware of the limitation. He recalled the rare incident in 2024 where the entire cloud account of the large pension fund UniSuper was accidentally deleted, harshly criticizing Google Cloud for its lack of a business bottom line compared to the stability of AWS and the proactive response of Azure. He strongly advised developers to swiftly migrate their businesses out.
