According to DynaBeat monitoring, Anthropic co-founder Tom Brown announced an expansion of the computing power partnership with SpaceX, to scale up NVIDIA GB200 power within the Colossus 2 cluster in June 2026. The newly disclosed S-1 filing revealed that Anthropic has agreed to pay SpaceX $1.25 billion per month, with the contract period running until May 2029, and enjoying discounted rates during the power ramp-up phases in May and June.
SpaceX founder Musk later confirmed that SpaceX has officially entered the AI Computing-as-a-Service (CaaS) market and is currently in negotiations with multiple companies for computing power leasing. In the S-1 filing, SpaceX also positioned AI alongside aerospace and the Starlink network as the company's three core growth pillars.
In addition to the existing Memphis ground cluster, SpaceX plans to utilize its vast LEO satellite constellation to build an in-orbit data center powered by solar energy and space-grade natural cooling, offering massively scalable space-based AI computing.
