Source: Insider According to sources: Trump plans to sign AI cybersecurity executive order as early as Thursday

BlockBeats News, May 21st, according to sources familiar with the matter, U.S. President Trump is expected to issue an executive order as early as Thursday aimed at enhancing artificial intelligence network security and has invited tech industry leaders to attend the signing event.

The order Trump is expected to sign would modify the existing cybersecurity information sharing program to include AI companies but would not mandate federal approval of cutting-edge models. Instead, the order will call for voluntary testing of advanced AI systems by the government to discover and patch vulnerabilities in federal, state, and local networks as well as U.S. critical infrastructure, without the need for extensive new regulations.

Sources said invitations have been extended to several tech industry executives to attend the signing ceremony at the White House on Thursday, but it is currently unclear who will be present.
