Fed Meeting Minutes: April Economic Outlook Shows Slight Strength, Almost All Participants Support Unchanged Interest Rates

BlockBeats News, May 21: Fed Meeting Minutes: The Fed staff's economic outlook was slightly stronger than in March.

Some participants expressed concerns that elevated energy prices and tariffs could lead to a more widespread solidification of inflation pressures. Fewer participants believed that it would be appropriate to lower the federal funds rate when there were clear signs that the downward trend in inflation was returning to normal. Several participants indicated that it would be necessary to cut rates later this year if the conflict is resolved promptly and inflation pressures ease. Almost all participants supported keeping the federal funds rate target range unchanged at this meeting.
