WeChat Reading Launches Exclusive Skill, Supporting AI Direct Connection to Personal Bookshelf and Reading Notes

According to Dynamic Insight monitoring, WeChat Reading has launched an official exclusive Skill, allowing users to directly connect their personal WeChat Reading accounts with an AI assistant using an API Key. This update breaks the previous limitation where AI could only provide generic book recommendations, enabling large models to directly access users' private bookshelves, highlighted notes, reading durations, and other in-depth behavioral data.

After users send commands to the AI assistant and bind their API Key, they can access six core data reading capabilities: view a summary of their private bookshelf, quantitatively analyze their reading habits, extract and export highlighted notes, search for global book city information, view book details and personal progress, and receive personalized recommendations based on actual reading history.

To address privacy concerns, the official statement clarifies that the data accessed by this API Key is visible only to the individual user. This mechanism directly replaces the previous cumbersome workflow that relied on third-party scripts or manual exports, allowing personal knowledge management and reading habit analysis to be completed in a single natural language conversation.
