CoW DAO Domain Hijacking Incident User Compensation Plan Approved, Affected Users Must Submit Claims by May 14th

BlockBeats News, May 12th, CoW DAO announced that its domain registrar experienced a social engineering attack on April 14th. The attacker briefly took control of the official domain for about 4.5 hours and during this time directed users to a phishing website to deceive them into signing malicious transactions.

The project team emphasized that the CoW Protocol itself was not compromised, but some users' assets were affected during this time window.

In response to this incident, the CoW DAO community governance proposal CIP-86 has been approved to establish a discretionary compensation fund to reimburse affected user losses.

Users eligible for compensation are reminded to submit their claims by May 14th, including the affected wallet addresses, asset information, transaction hashes, and full name to help@cow.fi with the email subject line "Discretionary Grant Claim for".
