Cardano Founder: By 2035, AI Agent's Importance to the Internet Will Surpass Humanity, Google and Other Giants 'Very Panicked'

BlockBeats News, May 7th, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson stated at the Consensus 2026 conference that by 2035, most searches, transactions, and activities on the internet will be conducted by AI Agents rather than human users, which will fundamentally disrupt the business models of tech giants such as Google, Amazon, and Facebook.

Hoskinson said that AI Agents will not click on ads and have no brand loyalty, thereby directly undermining platform models that rely on ad revenue. "Amazon, Google, Facebook are in panic mode over the Agent revolution because their entire business models will be overturned."

He believes that AI Agents will increasingly take on tasks such as due diligence, transaction execution, and DeFi interactions in the crypto industry, and called AI "one of the best things to ever happen to cryptocurrency" as it is expected to greatly enhance the current complex user experience.

Hoskinson also emphasized that users should continue to control their own data, identity, and assets rather than rely on custodial wallets or third-party platforms. He criticized the current fragmentation of the crypto industry ecosystem, stating, "Over the years, 11,000,000 tokens have been issued, we don't need more tokens, what we need now is collaboration."

Furthermore, he mentioned that the attitude of traditional financial institutions is changing, citing JPMorgan Chase as an example, "In the past, they would close users' crypto-related bank accounts, but now they are starting to roll out blockchain products."
