BlockBeats News, May 6th, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated to reporters at the White House on Tuesday: "The Epic Fury operation has ended, and we have achieved the objectives of that operation." He also noted that the United States' next goal is to establish a secure transit zone supported by naval and air forces to restore the ability of ships to pass through and gradually rebuild confidence from all parties in the security of these sea lanes.

Meanwhile, President Trump posted on social media, stating that the "freedom plan" for guiding vessels through the Strait of Hormuz will be temporarily suspended in the near term. "Based on requests from Pakistan and other countries, and considering our significant military victories in countering Iran and the substantial progress made in reaching a comprehensive final agreement with Iranian representatives, we have mutually agreed that while the blockade measures will remain in effect, the 'freedom plan' (i.e., the operation to guide vessels through the Strait of Hormuz) will be paused for a period to observe whether the agreement can be ultimately reached and signed."
