OpenClaw has released version 2026.5.4 Update: Optimized Plugin Installation and Gateway Startup, Enhancing Cross-Platform Stability

BlockBeats News, May 5th, AI Agent Tool OpenClaw released version update 2026.5.4. This update includes: easier plugin installation and updates, faster gateway startup path, improved diagnostics and repair prompts, and enhanced Windows and Discord stability.

Regarding plugin installation, the official package recovery between npm and ClawHub is smoother, Beta channel updates are more stable, the "doctor" tool can point expired configurations to the correct installation path. The gateway startup and control paths have been optimized to reduce cold start plugin scanning and lazy loading overhead, and to provide clearer phase diagnostic information. The "doctor" tool has been further upgraded to preserve SecretRefs during the cleaning process, fix expired plugin configurations, and provide clearer post-update operation prompts in case of update failure.

Windows environment optimizations include: avoiding the ::1/libuv loopback binding issue, temporary and media file write path corrections; Discord startup and status reports more accurately reflect network anomalies. In terms of multi-channel communication, Slack thread issues have been fixed, Telegram preview optimized, WhatsApp Newsletter target sending supported, and Discord send failure false reporting issues resolved.

Voice and call capabilities have been enhanced to support real-time Gemini voice bridging via Twilio, optimize audio rhythm, queue management, and interruption handling. For model authentication, a new command "openclaw models auth list" has been added to view authentication configurations saved by each agent, without exposing keys or making real-time service calls.
