Senator Tillis Agrees to Advance Powell's Fed Chair Nomination, Confirmation Probability Rises to 93% by May 15

BlockBeats News, April 26th. Senator Thom Tillis, who had previously stated his intention to block the confirmation of Jerome Powell as Federal Reserve Chair, has made a concession and is now prepared to advance the Senate confirmation process. Tillis had taken a firm stance, insisting that he would not approve Powell's nomination as long as the Justice Department did not stop its investigation into Powell. However, on April 24th, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Matthew Olsen, announced that the investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Powell's building expenses would be halted.

Thom Tillis's concession has paved the way for the confirmation of Kevin Warsh as Federal Reserve Chair. According to PolyBeats monitoring, the probability on the prediction market Polymarket of "Warsh being ultimately confirmed as Federal Reserve Chair" has increased, with the probability of Powell being confirmed before his term ends on May 15th rising to 93%.
