OpenAI did not report terrorists to the police in time, Sam Altman apologizes

BlockBeats News, April 25th, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman apologized to the Tumbler Ridge community in Canada for failing to report to the police about the suspended account related to Jesse Van Rootselaar.

According to the police, Jesse Van Rootselaar killed 8 people at a school in February this year and then committed suicide. OpenAI had previously stated that the company had suspended Van Rootselaar's account last year for policy violations, but the issue did not meet the internal standard for reporting to law enforcement. Sam Altman said that he had spoken to the Mayor of Tumbler Ridge and the Premier of British Columbia about the tragedy, describing the pain in the local community as "unimaginable." (BlockBeats)
