The US Military Introduces Ukrainian Anti-Drone System at Saudi Base, Frontline Combat Technology Exposes Air Defense Vulnerabilities

BlockBeats News, April 22nd - According to sources familiar with the matter cited by Reuters, the US military has deployed the Ukrainian-developed anti-drone command system Sky Map at the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia and provided on-site training by Ukrainian personnel. This system has been widely used in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, can integrate radar and multi-source sensor data to detect, identify, and intercept incoming drones.

The report pointed out that the base has been attacked by drones and missiles multiple times since the conflict broke out, causing damage to critical equipment and casualties, highlighting the insufficient ability of the US military to respond to the low-cost drone threat. The introduction of Ukrainian combat technology this time is seen as a move by the US military to accelerate filling the gap in the anti-drone field.

Analysts believe that as drones are increasingly used in modern warfare on a large scale, traditional air defense systems are facing a structural challenge, and there is still no universal solution that can comprehensively cover all types of threats.
