BlockBeats News, April 20th. According to The Times of Israel, on April 20th local time, three U.S. and regional diplomatic sources said that Iran has agreed to transfer all of its enriched uranium, but it is currently unclear who will receive these materials. The current alternative options include:
- Russia, which has expressed willingness to receive;
- The International Atomic Energy Agency, which needs to find another location for storage and processing;
- Or the United States.
The U.S. has requested to be involved in the enriched uranium relocation operation, but Iran has not yet agreed, only preparing to allow IAEA personnel to participate. This progress achieved in recent weeks of U.S.-Iran contacts is the reason for Trump's optimism, but there are still several fundamental disagreements between the two sides. Prior to the publication of the report in the Israeli media, an Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister stated that Iran would never hand over enriched uranium to the United States. (FX Street)
