Arweave Foundation Launches Network Availability Staking Testnet, Initiates Gateway Data Service Incentive Mechanism

BlockBeats News, April 16th, According to official sources, AO, a scalable blockchain network based on Arweave, announced the launch of the "Network Availability Staking Alpha (NASA)" test program. This is a key step in the AO ecosystem, aiming to enhance the decentralization data network's availability and reliability through a staking mechanism. The program is currently in the Alpha stage, and users can participate in network availability validation and receive rewards by providing data services to Arweave gateways and staking AO tokens.

In the initial pilot, AO introduced the "Availability Staking" mechanism, requiring node operators to stake 25 AO coins to participate in the network and collectively compete for the speed and stability of responding to user requests. Based on the node's performance in data services, the system will allocate rewards from a monthly pool of 1000 AO coins. This mechanism leverages the next-generation HyperBEAM architecture, enabling gateways and routing services to achieve a higher level of verifiability and trustlessness while significantly reducing operating costs.

The project team stated that NASA aims to establish a stronger decentralized economic model for the entire permanent network infrastructure, paving the way for future expansion into areas such as compute scheduling, data indexing, and network services. Despite the current small reward scale and still being in the testing phase, this program is seen as a crucial starting point for the AO-Core economic system and will gradually expand to more network infrastructure services in the future.
