Claude is working on a sentence-building app, to which the new CEO of bolt.responded: Last year I asked Anthropic in person when they will start.

According to 1M AI News's monitoring, AI full-stack app development platform bolt.new CEO Eric Simons posted on X, stating that last fall at an Anthropic dinner, he sat next to the CTO of rival product Lovable and directly asked the Anthropic team, "When are you going to make me and this dude unemployed?" The other person's expression "said it all."

Recently, several screenshots circulating on X show Anthropic is developing full-stack app development capabilities in Claude, where users can input a single sentence to generate a complete application with a database and authentication, similar to what Lovable and bolt.new are doing. Anthropic has not yet confirmed this.

Simons stated that when bolt.new launched in October 2024, he anticipated that everyone would enter this race. Indeed, this past year has seen new companies emerge, Replit pivot, and Wix, Figma, and Google enter the field one after another. He believes the "easy growth phase is officially over," likening the current situation to 2021: companies chasing high growth with high churn rates and consumer revenue have hit a ceiling, and excessive funding and valuation may turn into liabilities. The way out is to focus on detailed workflows with high retention rates, ensuring funding is sufficient for the battle but not inflating the valuation to a level that the next round cannot support.
