Bittensor co-founder criticizes Covenant AI founder's behavior as "malicious and greedy," calls for a reboot of the subnet community governance vote.

BlockBeats News, April 10th - In response to Covenant AI's recent exit from the Bittensor network, Bittensor co-founder Jacob Steeves posted on Discord. He revealed that when dTAO was launched a year ago, the team had originally planned to implement a community-led subnet governance mechanism, where subnet Alpha holders could vote through their wallets to elect a team to govern the hyperparameters. However, due to the early need to give more control to subnet owners, this feature was postponed.

Steeves believes that now is the right time to restart this discussion and has proposed introducing a community voting mechanism to elect the team and relaunch the subnet. He emphasized that as one of the top three major holders, supporters, and technical contributors to the Bittensor project, he will personally participate in this mechanism, recommend suitable candidates, and continue to pursue the project's original goals set with Covenant AI founder Sam Dare.

At the same time, Steeves bluntly stated that Sam Dare's recent decisions were "clearly malicious and greedy." However, he also pointed out that such crises often signify a new beginning and offer the opportunity to redefine the form and governance of the subnet.
