Meta Unveils New AI Model Muse Spark, Steps Up Efforts to Catch Up with Competitors

According to 1M AI News, Meta, under the leadership of CEO Zuckerberg, has released its AI flagship model, Muse Spark, following a large-scale investment in talent and infrastructure. Muse Spark is the first model in the Muse series developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs. Zuckerberg previously stated that the model is not yet on par with competitors' most advanced systems but will provide "smarter and faster" capabilities for the Meta AI virtual assistant. The company stated that the model will leverage content from Instagram, Facebook, and Threads to support more personalized and visually engaging responses. Meta also noted that its new model has strong potential applications in the healthcare field, having collaborated with over 1,000 doctors to train the model to provide more detailed answers on topics such as nutrition and exercise.

The Muse Spark model utilizes native multimodal reasoning and supports tool use, visual thinking chains, and multi-agent orchestration. It is now live on the Meta AI platform. Meta has also provided a private preview of the model to select partners via API and aims to open source the model in the future.
