Divisions Reemerge on the Eve of US-Iran Talks as Israel Violates Ceasefire, Casting Doubt on Smooth Negotiations

BlockBeats News, April 8th: On the eve of the US-Iran talks, differences reemerged, with the main issue focusing on Israel's ongoing attacks on Lebanon.

On the Israeli side, this morning Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that Israel supports Trump's decision to pause attacks on Iran for two weeks, but the ceasefire does not include actions in Lebanon.

On the US side, Trump has approved this. Trump stated in an interview this evening that the two-week US-Iran ceasefire does not include Lebanon and Hezbollah.

On the Iranian side, they have just informed the mediators that Iran will only engage in talks with the US in Pakistan if there is a ceasefire in Lebanon. If Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon, they will retaliate against regional countries (including Israel).

Currently, the mediators have urged Israel to adhere to the relevant ceasefire arrangements and cease military operations in Lebanon.

According to earlier arrangements, the US-Iran talk delegations are expected to arrive in Islamabad, Pakistan on Thursday and hold talks on the 10th.
