Hormuz Strait Passage Still Blocked, Two Qatar LNG Vessels Make U-Turn

BlockBeats News, April 6th, it appears that two liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers from Qatar have abandoned their attempt to exit the Persian Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz. According to vessel tracking data, the Al Daayen and Rasheeda, after loading LNG from Qatar's export facilities at the end of February, headed east towards waters near Oman in an apparent bid to enter the strait but later turned away.

Since the end of February airstrike by the United States on Iran, no LNG tanker has passed through the Strait of Hormuz. According to Kpler's vessel data, Qatar has delivered two LNG shipments to Kuwait in recent weeks. These supplies most likely come from Qatar's onshore storage and thus bypass the need to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

Due to the possibility of electronic interference or AIS blackout for vessels navigating in high-risk areas, vessel tracking around the Persian Gulf remains uncertain. (Jinse)
